Tip #1 – M for Mindset – This is the most critical key. Ask yourself, “What do I want and why do I want it?” And remember, you can’t fool your mind. So, you need to really believe what you are saying if you are going achieve your goals of listing more houses year in and year out.
Tip #2 – A for Activities – The #1 activity is prospecting – lead generation. Generate listing leads costs you 0 dollars out of pocket. There are three lead buckets for listing agents – 1)Sphere of Influence, 2) Geographic Farming, 3)Niche – Your specialty.
The important thing to remember about this listing agent tip is that you must have all 3 lead buckets rocking. Picture a 3-legged stool. All it takes is one broken or missing leg and you attempt to sit will result in a fall.
Tip # 3 – P for People – You can act on a number or listing agent tips and never succeed if you don’t surround yourself with the right people. You need team members to help you get things done. And remember this: The biggest mistake you can make is hiring people just like yourself as that brings no new skills to the table.
Tip #4 – S for Systems – What would you do if you got 21 new listings this week? How would you handle this? If you have a system in place, then you don’t have to do anything differently. You just plug and play.
Tip #5 – T for Tools – Listing agents must have the right tools for the job. And remember, there are different tools for a listing specialist than a buyer specialist.
